The Face We All Want To Avoid!…. Gift Face

This is a genius piece of marketing from Harvey Nichols for this festive season demonstrating ‘Gift Face’, the face we all want to avoid receiving when giving gifts. When I first watched this advertisement it really tickled me, at some point in our lives we’ve all had to give ‘gift face’ the face that says it all but ultimately is us trying our best to hide how we really feel by attempting to look grateful and like you love the gift you’ve just received.

I also have just come across another of Harvey Nichols adverts that I really like, this one from last year, how this one passed me by is beyond me but I love it so just had to share this one too.

My Top Advent Calendars Of 2015.

  1. Five Dollar Shake, Department Store Scene: £9.95
  2. Charlotte Tilbury, Book Of Magic: £150.00
  3. L’Occitane: £39.00
  4. Diptyque: £250.00

With just over a week to go until December 1st, the day we all look forward to opening that first door on our advent calendar, I take a look at some of the best advent calendars out there this year .

Every single year Mum has always bought an advent calendar for me and it’s always been a beautiful most scenic of calendars, filled with beautiful illustrations so in tradition one of my favourites that I’ve come across this season has to be the Five Dollar Shake department store wintery scene, with shoppers doing their christmas shopping and santa with his reindeers in the sky.

In at number two has to be the Charlotte Tilbury book of magic, this is a great calendar for the beauty products lover or someone with a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury’s range who wants to try out a more extensive collection.
I for one have been desperate to try her skin care products and some new shades from her lipstick range. If you are like me and want to try more then this is a great pre Christmas treat with 12 fully loaded doors of beauty magic.

In at number 3 is the L’Occitane beauty calendar, now I’ll be honest here I’ve chosen this one simply just for it’s beautiful parisian style festive illustrations. I’ve never tired L’Occitane products so I can’t give a true report on this one but if like me you too would like to try their products then at just £39 this one is a real bargain with a wide range of products to trail.

At number 4 is the Diptyque calendar, now who doesn’t love a candle burning beautiful scents around their living room when chilling out…. this brand is a bloggers fave, this one also has dual useage usage as some beauty bloggers I have noticed clean out their candles from the glass pots and use them to store their make up brushes in.

A Sweet Scent For Summer…

There’s one thing I look for in a fragrance and that is longevity, for a fragrance to last a full day is a great thing, I want my fragrance to be sprayed on a morning when I leave the house and still be evident when I get back home on an evening.
I always liked Angel for it’s fragrance and it’s longevity but Angel Eau Sucree has a sweetness to it that I really like and so with it being a limited edition fragrance I’m keeping this one for special occasions like friends weddings etc, there’s a few this Summer and I’m going to be smelling super sweet for them. Bliss!

A Summer Wedding To Remember…

For those of you who follow me on Instagram will have seen I attended the most beautiful wedding last weekend, two of my closest friends got wed and what a beautiful weekend it was.
The sun shone brightly, the dress code was black tie, the venue represented them well… everything was clean cut and most importantly WHITE, the band weren’t your average wedding band, it felt like they were an established chart hitting band, everything was elegant and simply perfect with a great mix of people.

I bought my dress from Biba, I love the way it fitted my hourglass figure, pulling in at the waist to excentuate my curves and to show off my smallest feature, my waist, the colour was just so elegant with the slight slit up to the knee on one side.
I’ve always been a fan of emerald green dresses ever since I wore the most beautiful taffeta party dress as a child which was emerald green. One thing about this bottle green dress was that no one else at the wedding had it, I’m not sure if Biba is just somewhere guests hadn’t thought to look or what but I loved it and it got so many compliments. I would love another occasion to be able to wear this dress again soon as I felt like a princess and due to the colour and style it’s perfect for any season.
My sparkly shoes are from Karen Millen and luckily I get to wear those beauties in a few weeks with my beautiful bridesmaid dress.

I would love to relive the weekend again but onwards to the next one as I plan a best friend’s hen parties for her in a couple of weeks of which I’m a bridesmaid for, I simply can’t wait!

Summer May Have Come & Gone….

Following a crazy busy Summer of a holiday to Ibiza, friends 30th birthdays, hen parties, weddings, one of which I was bridesmaid for and lots of work and events… what better time than the beginning of Autumn to get my blog going again, I’ve really missed posting but just not had time to do much with it, so here I am.

I’m fully embracing Autumn in both cosmetics and fashion at the minute and I can’t wait to share a few of my favourite Autumn buys with you.
I’m experimenting with different looks too and this really does give me so much excitement for the season ahead. Everywhere I look at the moment I’m seeing inspiration for both beauty and fashion, even just in the colours of the leaves. In the meantime I hope you enjoy a couple of my sunset photos from my time in Ibiza this Summer.
