The most stylish female athletes of all time (part 1)

Sports and fashion don’t seem to be directly related, but for many athletes, they do. High-profile athletes from Maria Sharapova to Serena Williams love showcasing their fashion style on and off the field. Many of these sports stars sign huge endorsement deals, through which they can flash their fashion. Others grace the red carpets of award ceremonies and fashion shows.

1. Maria Sharapova

Maria Sharapova is one of the best tennis players of her generation, but in fact, she brings more to the court than talent. The tennis legend has been showing off her impressive fashion style for years with beautiful looks and amazing outfits. Sharapova is not only a pro tennis player but also a professional model.

The Russian athlete has been featured in some modeling assignments, including a feature in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She has also appeared in advertisements for companies such as Nike, Canon, and Prince. Sharapova is definitely a diverse talent in the list of TIME’s 30 Legends of Women’s Tennis.

2. Lindsey Vonn

Lindsey Vonn is one of two female skiers to win four World Cup championships. Besides her dominance on the slopes, Vonn is known around sports as a multitalented athlete. She is also considered one of the most fashionable athletes in extreme sports.

Vonn was the first American female athlete to ever win a gold medal in downhill skiing (at the 2010 Winter Olympics). She is also one of six women to win World Cup races in all 5 disciplines of alpine skiing: super-G, downhill, slalom, giant slalom, and super combined. She managed to win her second Olympic bronze medal in Pyeongchang before injuries forced her to retire in 2019.

3. Aly Raisman

Aly Raisman is the captain of the United States women’s “Fierce Five” gymnastics team, winning back-to-back Olympic competitions. She also had a decorated 2016 Olympics, winning a silver medal in the all-around and floor competitions, and a gold one in the team event. Moreover, Raisman has also had a successful modeling career, including having appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2017 and 2018.
